Update 8 from COVID-19 Crisis Task Force
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum
To our Community members and attendees,
We hope you are all keeping well.
With less than two weeks until the start of the blessed month of Ramadān, many of us are accepting that the routine for the coming month will be different.
The COVID-19 Crisis Task Force convened on Monday night to discuss the latest updates on coronavirus in Canada, and worldwide.
Over the course of the last few days, experts have discussed that the number of cases in Ontario and in various other parts of the world are showing early signs of plateauing. Insha’Allāh, we hope that this will then be followed by a gradual decline in the number of cases over the next few weeks. This is a glimmer of hope and the good news is a result of us all following the recommendations of our public health experts.
How soon we can get back to our normal routine is dependent on how our leaders, communities and we, as individuals, react to the positive news that we hope to see soon. The return to our normal lives will be gradual, and changes will take time. We are urging you all to continue taking extended measures and precautions around COVID-19 until advised otherwise.
Please continue to:
- Stay home and stay safe!
- Go out for essential reasons only
- Practice physical distancing
- Provide moral support to family and friends and keep positive!
- And lastly, WHASUP!
- Wash Hands
- Always Sanitize
- Use Precaution
