Update 15 from COVID-19 Crisis Task Force
Update 15 from COVID-19 Crisis Task Force
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum
To our Community members and attendees,
We hope you are all keeping well.
Since our last update, the number of new cases in Ontario still hover between 300 – 400 daily, and we continue to remain in a ‘plateau’ phase. Unfortunately, the province is not yet seeing the decline in numbers that it anticipates in order to move forward with the reopening of the economy.
However, since May 24, 2020, there has been a downward trend in the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 and we are at a 78% recovery rate where cases are active.
The capacity to test individuals for COVID-19 remains high, yet the number of people getting tested are well below the daily benchmark set by the province. Last week Premier Doug Ford publicly urged people to get tested even if you are not showing symptoms. If you are worried that you have COVID-19 (either with milder symptoms or no symptoms) or have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, please get tested.
Please keep in mind that a negative test only indicates that at present you do not have the detectable virus. This is not to say that you have not had it, or will not get it, and so we urge that you continue to exercise public health measures.

Please keep our community and all of humanity at the forefront of your prayers. May we be relieved of this difficult situation soon.
