Mommy Connections is an initiative under the Jaffari Support Services (JSS).
Our team hopes to support mothers at all stages of parenting by:
- Connecting mothers in the community
- Empowering mothers with information about various topics through support group sessions
- Creating a confidential and supportive environment where mothers can share their experiences with one another.

Is the urine of a breastfeeding child pure?
It is najis, but when something becomes najis because of it the method of cleaning is
different from that for other najasaat. It only requires that water be poured over it once.
What are the recommended practices when a child is born?
1) What are the recommended practices when a child is born?
The following are some recommended practices;
a) Reciting Adhan in the right ear and Iqamah in the left ear.
b) Ghusl for the child.
c) Shaving the hair and giving its weight in gold or silver in charity. It is recommended to
do this on the 7th day after birth.
d) Aqiqah – slaughtering an animal in the name of the child. It is recommended to do
this on the 7th day after birth.
e) Circumcision for boys.
f) Walimah – feeding family and friends.
