Marhūm was the husband of Shabnam Datoo, son of Marhūm Gulamali Datoo & Marhūma Shirin Datoo of Mombasa, Kenya. He was the brother of Sheila Hirji, Fermanali Datoo & Marhūm Naushad Datoo. He was the father of Tasneem Meghji, Mubina Datoo & Shaan Virji
