Once registered, the food bank staff will select a variety of essential groceries based on the household’s size and dietary needs. This can include items such as fresh produce, canned goods, grains, dairy products, and halal protein sources.

The food bank staff will then deliver the groceries directly to the individual or family’s home on a convenient day each month. A discretionary gift card will also be provided to use for personal hygiene and baby products.

FAQ

The JMFB was an initiative started to combat the ever increasing problem of food security in our community. The need for the Jaffari Muslim Food Bank was identified by community members who recognized that many families in the area were struggling to afford enough food to meet their basic nutritional needs. The food bank was established as a way to address this need and provide essential support to those who were in dire need of a source of halal meat and groceries .
